The York University Graduate History Student Association (GHSA) invites you to our Historian’s Craft conferences 2020-2021. This Wednesday, March 10th at 2 PM EST, our Guest Speaker is Professor John  Tresch, professor of history of art, science and folk practice at the Warburg Institute, University of London.

In his talk, Dr. Tresch will discuss Edgar Alan Poe as a science writer, along with reflections on the challenges of writing history (and the history of science) through biography.

Professor Tresch previously taught for over a decade in Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania in History and Sociology of Science. Dr. Tresch is the author of The Romantic Machine: Utopian Science and Technology after Napoleon and editor of the History of Anthropology Review (histanthro.org).
